Farrand manufactures incremental and absolute
rotary Inductosyn® transducers in a large selection of sizes, angular pitches, and
substrate materials. They feature options such as integral rotary transformers, slip ring
assemblies, once-per-revolution marker signals, and special materials to meet harsh
environments. Because of their unique design, operating principle and construction, rotary
Inductosyn transducers tolerate mechanical misalignment and environmental extremes.
Outside diameters of rotary
transducers measure from less than 2 inches to 42 inches. Pole counts vary from 2
(360 angular pitch) to 2160 (0.333 angular pitch). An almost endless variety is
available as either standard or special order units.
can also be "wrapped" on cylindrical mounting surfaces to provide angular
position feedback on very large rotary axes. Typical applications include large
telescopes and large machine tools.
|High angular accuracy: +1 arc second
standard, +0.5 arc second, select.|
|Can be directly mounted to the axis of rotation.|
|Can withstand conditions ranging from cryogenic
temperatures and hard vacuum to high temperatures and pressures.|
|Non-contacting elements have zero wear- No
adjustment or lubrication ever required.|
|Accuracy, resolution, and repeatability are
unaffected by temperature.|
